What is Oikos?

The South African Band The Soil reminds us that there is joy in being family —- or at least there should be. But family is more than those that sleep under the same roof. We are all one blood. Oikos is a Greek word that at its simplest level means "household." And just like “family”, Oikos is more than just the people who sleep under your roof at night. Our Oikos is our relational world, the group of people that God has strategically placed in our lives for making change in our community and the world.

South Africa has one of the highest unemployment rates in the world. It remains segregated with a class system that makes it almost impossible to rise above. There are many obstacles. But there is hope because of God's redemptive work.

Oikos INTL is equipping and elevating leaders that are multiplying the Gospel in South Africa as well as other parts of Africa (as individuals return home). These leaders are establishing non-profits that will meet the physical needs as well as the spiritual needs. Strategically, they are in the best position to drive change in their community.

These leaders are the future of Africa. This is Kingdom Building.
