Education
Oikos INTL seeks to build relationships with individuals from the townships of Masiphumelele and Ocean View by providing education while giving them space to explore their personal dreams. Over the span of eight months, students meet weekly to share a meal, worship and learn key components for starting and building a non-profit or business. Each student that remains in good standing receives a monthly stipend to help with personal expenses. Some key aspects of the educational programming include:
Budgeting (individual & business)
Business and non-profit development
Leadership development
Orality/Scripture storytelling
Disaster relief training
Community Development
Trauma informed care
Coaching/mentoring
Not all students will go on to start a business or non-profit. Some will opt to get a job or partner with a student in their co-hort. Whatever path they choose, they are equipped with new skills for the workplace and life.
