THE COOPERATIVE ALLIANCE
Lutho Dinga:
Physical Fitness with
Trauma Informed Care
A Note from the Oikos INTL Founders:
Lutho is family. Our entire family (including our dogs) love him. We have walked with Lutho through the highs and lows of addiction and recovery. He is the real deal, genuine and honest to the core. Lutho is one of our “changemakers” God is using for his people living in poverty, hunger and despair. As a member of Oikos INTL Bonhoeffer House and Media Team, lives are merging and lives are changing.

Meet Lutho (LOO-TOH) Dinga
My name is Lutho Dinga and I come from the Xhosa Tribe which Nelson Mandela belonged to. I became a Christian when Oikos Co-founder, Alan Murdock (“Pops”) introduced me to Jesus. He baptized me and many others during his sabbatical in 2021. Alan and Michelle Murdock put me through Discipleship Training School and then film school called Media Village while they still lived in the states to keep me out of trouble. And with a few exceptions, it worked. Today, I am a passionate videographer specializing in pre-production and planning. I work for Oikos Intl in their media team where I’m able to tell stories and connect with churches that come from the states. I also mentor youth and young men who are struggling with addiction like I did for most of my life, and I serve in leadership with Celebrate Recovery (CR). In 2024, in partnership with CR, Long Hollow Church and Oikos INTL I am helping to lead The Landing, a program for 12- to 26-year-olds addressing hurts, hangups and addiction. The Oikos family has been important on my journey and is encouraging me on the next phase that will allow me to help even more youth and young people struggling.
LUTHO’S MINISTRY
As I’ve walked away from drugs and alcohol, fitness has become a special part of my life. I believe that God has called me to use fitness to engage with children, youth and beyond while using a Gospel-entered approach to Trauma Informed Care that I’m learning at Oikos. In order to be “full-time” in this ministry, I am going to college at ETA in Cape Town to receive a certification in fitness for healing the children and youth of our impoverished communities through health and trauma informed care. This is a dream come true and not one that people with my history and background often get.
Will you watch my video and pray how you may support my education and transportation so that I can partner with Oikos and others on a deeper level?
Lutho is seeking to raise $3,600 for the 2024 school year.
This can be done through a one-time gift, making 4 quarterly installments of $900 or a monthly commitment of $300.
